One thing I’ve noticed is that Mark has been fastidious in his preparation work – the feeding, the mulching and the pest patrol – and now the results are starting to show. A fantastic display of healthy beautiful blooms and this just the beginning!
Now for a little bit of maintenance to keep up the high standard
- Continue the pest patrol for aphids as now is the right time to be extra watchful
- It’s still not too hot in most parts of the country, so keep watering the usual 10L per plant; and as soon as the temperatures climb switch to twice a week
- Spray with oil, fish and fungicide as the rains are coming to protecting against blackspot
- Once a month add some potash to the soil and water it in; this will keep the blooms coming along
See photos below – it’s an update from the previous week
